NOT being a property owner, I was surprised to receive a letter from an estate agent asking me if I would be interested in a free no obligation valuation of my property. What is going on?
I am living happily in a Selby District Council sheltered bungalow and being well looked after by our wardens.
I say "happily" - that was before a blizzard of information descended on us council tenants about the so-called three options.
My generation does not take kindly to being expected to understand brain-crunching statistics. They also resent being made to feel "ungrateful" for being satisfied with the status quo and for being wary of change, with all its uncertainties.
Who is responsible for the baffling information with which we have been bombarded from Selby District Council, and which could have a disturbing effect on elderly tenants in council property?
I hope the answer will be in plain English and without graphs and pie charts.
