THE Evening Press showed photographs of Prince Philip at York's 60th anniversary to mark the Battle of Kohima (July 19).
The dozen or more medals worn by the Duke of Edinburgh looked most impressive. He had a lot more than the modern day military present, and seemingly twice as many as the war veterans themselves who featured in the pictures.
Of course, those war veterans had repulsed a Japanese invasion of northern India in 1944, but I wonder what Prince Philip got his medals for?
Could it be most of his collection was obtained from antique fairs, flea markets and car boot sales?
