THE cast of an exotic new musical were entertaining people in York with a taster of their show.
Vodou Nation, described as a "landmark new musical" is being performed at York Theatre Royal from today until Friday.
It celebrates the rich history of Haiti, whose residents today live in some of the poorest conditions in the Western world.
Haiti's official religion - the much maligned Vodou - is celebrated in the musical, which depicts the history of the island through an allegorical tale of two brothers. Sixteen musicians, dancers and singers will perform the musical, which features a blend of western music and traditional Vodou songs. Performances run from today until Saturday.
The first 25 people who take an original copy of this article to the Theatre Royal box office will receive a pair of tickets to a performance of their choice.
