BRAZILIAN international Juninho will be the star attraction when Premiership stars Middlesbrough take on York City at Bootham Crescent on Wednesday night (7.45pm).
Juninho has been named in a strong 18-man squad to face the Minstermen, which also includes £8.1 million Italian international forward Massimo Macarone, Slovakian striker Szilard Nemeth and former Derby defender Chris Riggott.
Nemeth scored for Slovakia against England in the Euro 2004 qualifier against England in Bratislava.
Scottish international winger Allan Johnston will also be on display, as well as ex-Manchester United midfielder Mark Wilson.
The squad, released by the Riverside Stadium's press office today, is unexpectedly strong considering that Middlesbrough also have a friendly at League Championship club Rotherham tomorrow night.
It is thought that the bulk of their new high-profile signings, including strikers Mark Viduka and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Dutch international defender Michael Reiziger, will be on duty at Millmoor.
But the Boro side at Bootham Crescent is still strong with trialist Sergio also being given a run out and some of the country's most promising youngsters will also be on show with several members of last season's FA Youth Cup winning squad making the trip to Bootham Crescent.
Among them is highly-rated defender Matthew Taylor, who played for England Under-18s against Sweden at Bootham Crescent at the end of last season.
Wanted man Lev Yalcin is expected play for a young York City XI at Selby Town tonight (7pm).
The young Middlesbrough-born striker has returned from a trial with Turkish club Antalyaspor and was having talks with City boss Chris Brass this afternoon concerning his Bootham Crescent future after reporting back for training today.
A mixture of York City trialists and first-year professionals will play at at Flaxley Road tonight in the annual In Shops Trophy fixture.
Brass has confirmed that talented teenage midfielder Matthew Coad will definitely play with Sean Davies.
Meanwhile, City's trip to Morecambe on Tuesday, October 5 will now be televised live by Sky TV.
It follows Sky's decision not to screen next month's City v Hereford match because of a scheduling oversight.
City would expect to net around £3,000 from the screening.
Former City loan striker Jon Shaw's club Sheffield Wednesday have rejected a bid from Darlington. Shaw arrived at Bootham Crescent in November and played eight times for City but didn't score a goal.
Shaw could face City on Saturday as the Minstermen entertain the Owls in a friendly at Bootham Crescent.
