THREE games were abandoned without a ball being bowled whilst the result of the game at Wilberfoss has not been received and may well have been another victim of the worst weather of a badly affected month of fixtures.
In the one game to be played, Hemingbrough moved into fourth place by beating New Earswick by three wickets.
Earswick struggled against the bowling of Mark Allitt who took 4-17 and 17-year-old Ricky Noble whose 3-22 came off nine overs. Only Mick Steels, who made 35, prospered in their total of 114-8.
Hemingbrough were plunged into deep trouble as John Routledge who took 3-17 in 17 overs, and Ron Wood 3-46 helped dismiss their first seven wickets cheaply but then rallied through Graham Williamson, who made 37no, and Mal Walker 24no to reach victory without further loss.
