TEENAGER Hannah Batty is the new toast of Pike Hills GC.
The 14-year-old (pictured left) topped a 110-strong field in the northern regional final of the Health Perception Ladies' Championship of Great Britain.
Hannah tamed the Bedale course on her first appearance there with a score of 41 stableford points to earn a coveted place in the event's grand final at the world-renowned Wentworth course on September 28. Julie Standon of host club Bedale joins the Tadcaster Grammar School pupil in the final as does third-placed Janet Tedstone from Willow Valley GC.
Upwards of 25,000 players from clubs throughout Britain and Ireland entered this year's competition, so Hannah's achievement in getting to the final is outstanding.
And it is all the more remarkable in that the day before her memorable outing at Bedale she bagged the best nett score of 144 in Pike Hills' 36-hole ladies' club championship.
The title went to Janice Fisher with a 173 gross score ahead of runner-up Joyce Petch.
