ROCK'n'roll mischief makers Razorlight have not just come up with the goods on this, their debut long-player, but laid them all out for an almighty shop front display.
This is a memorable album of 13 chant-a-long tracks constructed by a band in the fast lane to music biz stardom. From the throbbing opening chords of Leave Me Alone to the melancholy simplicity of Fall, Fall, Fall, via a trip to Dalston, this is cracking stuff.
Up All Night stands out, but radio listeners will be more familiar with the harmonious single Golden Touch, the fourth from this album. Singer Johnny Borrell is the swaggering star at the front of the accomplished four piece and he shines.
There are few bells and whistles here but, nevertheless, the songs sound fresh and original. A mark of true talent and one good reason not to leave this on the shop's shelf.
