Mike Laycock's article "Drivers staying away from York" (July 10) was interesting and I had to laugh at the cheek of Quentin Macdonald pleading with York motorists not to boycott York on a night because the parking fee money not generated could result in "important services being cut"
What exactly do I get for my council tax, Quentin?
I have replied to your newsletter but I have not had a reply in return.
The truth hurts. Isn't this evening charge a "summer tax" which will be dropped for winter when York is flooded?
Furthermore, when will the council sort out the traffic problems on The Mount - never! God help us when we get Royal Ascot.
