A YORK sixth former has had an article published in a prestigious academic magazine.
Charles Strickland Constable, who is from York, and in the upper sixth at St Peter's School, had the article published in the July edition of The Mathematical Gazette.
The Mathematical Gazette is the primary journal of the Mathematical Association, and is more than a century old. Its readership is a mixture of teachers, lecturers, educationists and others with an interest in mathematics.
One of the world's leading journals in its field, it publishes articles about teaching and learning mathematics, with a focus on teaching the 15-20 age range.
Most of the articles are written by doctors of mathematics, lecturers and teachers, so for a pupil to have an article published is an exceptional achievement.
Charles, who is 18, has also won the 2004 British Physics Olympiad, and is due to travel to Korea to represent Great Britain against 79 other countries.
He is also captain of tennis and fencing and is an exceptional violinist and guitar player.
