AFTER a moment of madness, Bobbie Pickford-Norton escapes to a run-down and decaying castle in Ireland, her recent affair with married MP Burgo Latimer splashed all over the tabloids unfairly branding her a heartless 'scarlet woman'.
She becomes housekeeper to a wonderfully eccentric Irish family, finding a close friend in the absent owner's sister, nursing his invalid wife, caring for his three children and avoiding the curses aimed at her by his gipsy mistress. As a graduate of fine arts, she starts to restore the house and garden, finding peace as she does until the owner, Finn, returns and they argue over almost everything.
A thoroughly good read.
