DIFFERENT generations of one of Yorkshire's most historic hotels met up to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The owners and past and present staff and guests held a party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Monk Fryston Hall Hotel becoming part of Rutland Hotels Ltd in 1954.
Also among the 200 guests marking at the hotel, a 17th century manor house, part of which dates back to the 13th century, were long-serving staff as well as members of Selby District Council and parish councillors from Hillam and Monk Fryston.
Many of those attending came forward after an appeal for guests and former staff from 50 years ago to get in touch to help with the celebrations.
The champagne reception was attended by the chairman of Rutland Hotels Ltd, Lord Edward Manners, owner of Haddon Hall, Derbyshire. There were speeches and the cutting of an anniversary cake. Music was provided by the Spa Quartet.
Pam Smith, director and general manager of Monk Fryston Hall Hotel, said: "We wanted to do something special to mark such an important milestone which is a real achievement in the fast-changing hotels sector. It was wonderful to see so many former and current staff and guests."
