The newly-appointed commercial director of Pocklington-based Sundora Foods has signalled his intent to strengthen the company's position as the number one brand in dried fruit by increasing its value share in key trade channels.
David Brewis, 49, was formerly director of marketing communications for home furnishing store MFI, in London, following a five-year stint as commercial director for Tryton Foods, the company responsible for the Aunt Bessie brand.
He has also worked for a number of other blue chip grocery companies in sales and marketing roles.
Mr Brewis said: "There are two key areas for Sundora Foods. The first is the dried fruit ranges we produce for major supermarkets, a sector of the business we can build by improving the quality of service to customers.
"The second is to take greater advantage of market trends in order to raise the profile of the Sundora brand with retailers and consumers.
"I think Sundora can do a lot more to capitalise on high-profile issues such as healthy eating to drive sales."
