YORK City's newest fans group has emerged - and this one is strictly for the youngest members of the Bootham Crescent faithful.
The Junior Minstermen has just been launched for supporters aged six to 21 with one eye on fundraising and the other on creating new ways for the junior contingent to get the most out of their club.
Two sections have been created. Under-12s can join the Young Minstermen for £3 with 13 to 21s qualifying for the Minstermen Youth with an added bonus for those over 18, who get automatic membership of sister-group York Minstermen.
Up-and-coming youth team star Adam Arthur has been drafted in as the honorary president and benefits for members range from a laminated membership card to away travel discounts, as well as the chance to get involved in fundraising for the Supporters' Trust.
Forthcoming events include table football, tennis and snooker tournaments with a big event being planned for the near future. Prospective members can find out more by logging onto www.yorkcityfc.com/jmm or emailing juniorminstermen@hotmail.com
The next branch meeting of the Harrogate Minstermen will take place on Monday at Knaresborough Working Men's Club with one of City's new summer recruits taking part in a 'Fans' Forum'.
Doors will open from 7pm with the meeting starting an hour later.
The night will focus on recruitment and membership applications will be accepted for the 2004/2005 season. Membership is available at £5 (adults) £3 (renewals) £2 (children) and £10 (family).
