I WAS interested to read an article (July 5) about Vale of York MP Anne McIntosh about her supposed crusade to force councils to use the powers they have to impose litter fines. She mentioned York as needing them.
Perhaps it is because the Tory party is without a single councillor in the city to keep her up to date that she is unclear what is happening in York.
Nevertheless, I can assure Ms McIntosh that we are utilising all the powers we can as part of York Pride to deter residents from littering our streets whether it is wrappers, chewing gum or fag ends.
