HAVING read about the Barbican protesters' continuing campaign (July 6) I wish to protest that they have now wasted half a million pounds of citizens' council tax money and seem prepared to waste more.
Enough is enough.
I am all for the right to protest but this development has now gone through the due democratic process and it is time to move on and get it built.
Mr Dickinson calls Coun Galloway a "bully" yet Coun Galloway and the other councillors had to go through a process of election to earn the right to spend York's money on our behalf.
What gives campaigners the right to spend £10,000 a week on our behalf? When they linked arms around the Barbican only 80 people turned up, and half of those were children. So few in a city of nearly 200,000.
Maybe the Evening Press could start a new campaign: to get the new pool finished as fast as possible so we can all get swimming again.
