Heworth have staked a claim for one of the two promotion places in division five of the IT Sports Mixed Tennis League after two good wins at Wigginton and against Cliffe.
Louise Haritakis and Keith Scoular top-scored in both matches for Heworth to take their side into second place just behind unbeaten leaders Cawood who added Strensall to their victims.

Fulford and Escrick have opened up a gap at the top of division nine after Fulford managed a good win at Sheriff Hutton, while Ruby Gourby and Terry Knowles won 29 games for Escrick as they took the points on their visit to Dunnington.
Sue Lacey and Tony Downing won 27 games for Stamford Bridge in their match against Wistow in division ten to keep their side in the promotion hunt after main rivals New Earswick lost to relegation-threatened Wilberfoss.
Alison Beal and Graham Dixon top-scored for Wistow in their sides' first win at Tollerton with Pam Huggins and Bish Forrest winning 25 games.
Jeanne Loadman and Terry Haw won 21 games for Fulford in their division 11 clash with promotion rivals Wigginton to take pole position behind unbeaten leaders Next Generation.
Zoe Green and Tom Denton won 28 games for Next Generation and the club's teams are both still unbeaten. Wheldrake had a timely win to maintain their promotion hopes with Lynne Morris and John Duggleby leading the scoring.
