Upcoming North Yorkshire athletics star Richard Buck capped his debut appearance for Great Britain Under-20s in impressive style at the City of Manchester stadium.
The 17-year-old Buck was third in the 400metres in 47.31 seconds, four-tenths of a second faster than his previous personal best. Thar performance put him into second place in the national U20 rankings bvehind race winner Richard Davenport, who clocked 46.80. Lady Lumley's School pupil Buck is now awaiting to see if he has been sewlected for the GB team for the world junio championships in Grosetto in Italy later this month.
