A MAN was taken to hospital with suspected head and spine injuries following a car accident at a York junction.
The 61-year-old had to be cut free from a blue Ford Focus by firefighters, who removed the top of the vehicle and put the patient on a spine board for transportation to York Hospital.
The accident, which also involved a red Vauxhall Corsa from the Malton area, happened at the junction of Main Avenue and Second Avenue, in Heworth, just before noon yesterday.
The man was taken to hospital at 12.50pm and three other people were treated for minor injuries.
A police spokesman said they did not believe the man's injuries to be serious.
