Why does everyone get so stressed about pigeonholing music? Ever since the first mellow sounds of the Kings Of Convenience emerged, they have been touted as the leaders of the now-dead New Acoustic Movement.
Their characteristic soothing style is still there in Stay Out Of Trouble and Gold In The Air Of Summer and several tracks jump up and down whispering "pick me" to Norwegian compatriots Royksopp for remix treatment.
But there is a new dimension, a more upbeat feel as evidenced by next single I'd Rather Dance With You, not forgetting the Simon and Garfunkel-style Homesick, which is so gorgeous you could wrap yourself up in it.
Canadian songbird Feist - another new name for 2004 - seems to detract more than she adds, but you can't have everything. So is this a revival of the NAM? Forget the label, just chill out.
