Hunters York and District Senior League Joe Lumb XI made it four wins from four games when they beat the Bradford League for the first time in more than 20 years.
Skipper Stephen Sacks (26) and Mark Cook (27) gave the innings a sound start. Alex Downey (37) and Anthony Daniells (33) took the score to 170 with excellent batting and running between the wickets. Both were dismissed on 170, but Neil Laidlaw hit a quickfire 41, and 15-year-old debutant Michael Linsley added 29 cultured runs in the last few overs, which along with an extras contribution of 52, gave York a total of 263-8 in their 50 overs.
Bradford started well with 107 for the first wicket, but once Josh Rewcroft broke the partnership the run rate slowed down. Andrew Anderson claimed the next two wickets in an excellent spell of 2-31, to peg them back even further. Rewcroft continued to bowl well, and finished with 5-69 in 16 overs. Bradford were dismissed for 222, in the 47th over, 41 short of the target set by York.
York's next game is against the Airedale-Wharfedale League, who are also undefeated, at Rawdon, on Sunday, July 11.
