I attended a performance of Fame at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.
As a keen follower of Shipton Theatre Company I knew the standard of the production would be high, but did not expect to be bowled over by the amount of talent on stage.
My husband and I agree, this is the best amateur production we have ever seen; for the energy and vibrancy of all the cast and the many stunning performances from a strong young group.
How wonderful it is to see a youthful group combining talents to create a highly professional and rare experience for York audiences.
A special mention for two enormously talented members of the cast, whom I have seen progress and grow into fine young performers - Alicia Roberts and Michael Oliver.
These two stars of the future deserve every success in what they do which, I believe, involves drama school. Long may Shipton Theatre Company dazzle audiences and thanks for making theatre-going so enjoyable and memorable.
