Why do people need to be told everything in words of no more than one syllable?
Anyone with a modicum of intelligence should know a motorised scooter is a motorised vehicle, and it doesn't need to be an internal combustion engine either ("Scooter rider gets B-test drive ban", June 28).
There is also a law stating it is illegal to ride a push bike while under the influence. This covers just about everything we ride or drive, including pony and trap to a handcart etc.
This is England for goodness sake. The scooters mentioned will be made in some far off land for sale in all countries of the world with differing laws and regulations. So it is up to the buyer to acquaint him or herself with the local laws and regulations pertaining to such internationally produced vehicles.
You can legally buy an AK47 rifle in many parts of the world, but you are not allowed to carry or shoot it off in the streets of England.
The right to buy doesn't mean right to operate, it is up to you to find out.
