Justice will be done if Aahgowangowan wins at Hamilton tomorrow.
Last week on the same course, the sprinter was narrowly denied by Karminskey Park after her starting stall had opened a fraction later than the rest.
That unusual happening, apparently caused because Aahgowangowan had her nose pressed up to the front, putting extra pressure on the catch and resulting in a marginally slower release, was undoubtedly a disadvantage, especially over five furlongs.
Not only did she lose a length or two at the start under Fergal Lynch, but she is also a front-runner so by missing the break she was unable to adopt her favourite role.
The chances of the same thing happening tomorrow are miniscule, and Ahgowangowan, from the in-form Michael Dods stable, is fancied to gain handsome compensation in the £12,000 toteexacta Handicap. Royston Ffrench has the mount this time.
My Nap vote is awarded to Albashoosh in the Friends Of Scottish Racing Classified Stakes over six furlongs.
David Nicholls' gelding was a runaway winner over this distance at Pontefract two outings ago, but he ran slightly below-par on his quick reappearance at Carlisle where he didn't help his cause by making tardy start. He is worth another chance here, with Alex Greaves again on board.
Dunlea Dancer is not without a fighting chance in the opening race, the Weatherbys Insurance Services Handicap.
Mark Johnston's three-year-old failed by only a head to get the better of Merrymaker at Ayr on her latest start. The pair came five lengths clear of the remainder that day and a reproduction of that form suggests that Dunlea Dancer may be hard to beat here.
Riska King (2.50), who looks to be running into form, and recent winner Libre (4.50) are two others to consider on the Scottish course.
At Brighton, Parkside Pursuit should take plenty of catching in the totesport.com Rated Handicap over five and a half furlongs.
Trainer Milton Bradley had five entries in this race, but relies on only two and the in-form Parkside Pursuit looks a better proposition than his stablemate Coranglais. Ryan Moore takes the mount.
The Brighton Argus Maiden Fillies' Stakes looks an ideal opportunity for Cheurbim to open her account. David Lorder's charge has shown definite signs of promise in all her four starts and loks capable of clinching a modest contest such as this.
Also worth noting at Brighton are the consistent Princely Vale (2.30) and the tough-as-teak Banningham Blaze (4.00).
Bago maintained his unbeaten record by winning the Group One Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp yesterday. The Jonathan Pease-trained colt, winner of all his six races, was 2-9 favourite for the 10-furlongs event.
