Yorkshire Phoenix will be going flat out to achieve the double over Sussex Sharks at Arundel tomorrow and at the same time preserve their status as table-toppers of Division Two of the totesport League.

Middlesex Crusaders are level on points with Phoenix who have a superior run-rate but Phoenix have also played a game more than any of their close rivals and they need a third consecutive victory in the competition to be sure of staying ahead of the pack.

Yorkshire have seen a remarkable transformation in their fortunes after losing their first two matches and since then they have been successful in five of their last seven outings.

They beat Sussex by five wickets at Headingley in mid-May when Yorkshire's current batting hero Phil Jaques compiled a century on his totesport League debut for the county to join fellow Australian, Matthew Elliott, as the club's only two overseas players to achieve such a feat.

Jaques has rapped out 220 runs in four innings for a healthy average of 55 and he was instrumental in helping to win the last match by scoring a determined 62 against Worcestershire Royals before running himself out.

Tim Bresnan, Yorkshire's leading fast bowler in the totesport League with ten dismissals, was joining up with his team-mates today. He has been playing for the second team this week in their Trophy competition.

Yorkshire Phoenix from: Wood, Jaques, Taylor, Lumb, Craven, Gale, Guy, Gray, Silverwood, Dawson, Hoggard, Bresnan, Kirby.
