Sheffield sextet Pink Grease deliver a fine slice of inspired glam punk rock with debut album This Is For Real.
A strange combination of Roxy Music with the Rocky Horror Show, it packs a raucous punch. Think oodles of sax, weird electronic noises and a healthy dollop of "huhs" courtesy of posturing lead singer Rory Lewarne, and you might start to get a picture.
Singles Fever, with its demon bassline, and funky The Pink G.R.Ease are stand-out tracks, very different in execution and the perfect example of this band's ability to take a wide range of ideas and make them completely their own. Remember Forever and Superfool also have single potential.
This is a record bursting with swagger and proudly sporting an edge of lunacy on its sleeve. Fresh and fun. You won't be able to resist singing along.
