MISS L. Crinnion sounds to be a lovely and genuine person (Letters, June 21).
I was horrified to see, however, that she is prepared to overlook the reality of what the European Union is in favour of embracing its propaganda.
I voted in favour of a Common Market in 1975. They lied to me then and have never stopped lying since.
She is not alone - many decent people cling to a touching belief in the benevolence of the EU.
I long ago suspected that it was not what it purported to be, but only began researching its excesses three years ago. In that time I have uncovered one horror after another: corruption, sleaze, fraud, expense, dishonesty, imperialistic ambitions, deviousness and many more negatives.
These represent a level of rottenness, not only never seen in this country but never even imagined.
LG Arnott,
Athelstan Road,
Sheffield.
