TWO budding North Yorkshire tennis stars were resounding winners at a tournament.
Ryedale School pupils Anna Clay and Anna Collier, both age 14, won the Under-14 District tournament at Eskdale School, Whitby. All schools in the Scarborough and Ryedale district were invited to send two pairs to the competition. Ryedale School's first pair, the two Annas, won all six games within their section and progressed to the semi-final where they convincingly beat Caedmon School rivals.
The final against the other Caedmon pairing was very competitive with all four girls playing some excellent tennis. However, the Ryedale School couple continued their unbeaten run and carried off the winners' trophy.
