IF David Hay (Letters, June 18) is correct about the undesirability of having more students living in existing residential areas (and I do mean if), perhaps the solution would be for the university to build more accommodation on the campus and sell that to private investors with the proviso that it must be used as student accommodation.
This would also result in a tidy profit for the university, which I am sure could be put to good use.
