A CONTRACT to manage the construction of a new £2 million advanced document management centre at Goole has been won by York-based building consultants and chartered surveyors Lightly & Lightly.

Building work on the 62,000 sq ft centre in Britannia Way for fast-growing document management company Magnum Services has started and is due to be complete this autumn.

The new centre will enable Magnum Services, which is based in several buildings nearby, to consolidate its range of services, which include document scanning, archiving, a microfilm facility and document conversion into one building.

Magnum Services, which was founded in 1989 and employs 62 people, serves a wide range of private and public sector organisations including local authorities, the Ministry of Defence and the NHS.

Steve Ewen, Magnum Services managing director, said: "We are proud of what we have achieved and this new centre marks a major step forward in our continuing programme of investment and development of our services. The new centre will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our archive and conversion services and we are pleased to have appointed Lightly & Lightly to act on our behalf alongside Houlton to ensure that everything goes to plan."

Colin Linley, Lightly & Lightly director, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded the contract to project manage such an important facility for Magnum Services.

"We are looking forward to seeing the development through to completion."

Lightly & Lightly, which is based at Clifton Moor, York, also has offices in Harrogate and Hull.
