IN response to Mr Helsdon's letter about Tadcaster car park (June 8), isn't Tadcaster a lost cause now?
We have waited and waited but, one by one, the shops are disappearing.
You could ask why even bother with the car park now; sad to say, the place isn't really worth it.
We now have a shiny new bus park but where are all the visitors going to go and see and buy?
The town is a bit of a shambles and it is amazing that existing traders manage to keep going.
What happened to Tadcaster? Why has it come to this? It is a ghost town.
We have a beautiful river and viaduct. We need some shops. It could be buzzing like nearby Wetherby or Boston Spa, both thriving little market towns.
What went wrong? Can we expect any more businesses or will Taddy die?
Karen Greenheld,
Prospect Court,
Tadcaster.
