A 15-year-old boy was due to appear before York magistrates today in connection with a high-speed chase which left a police officer injured.
The boy is charged with attempted grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
PC Julian Pearson suffered bruising after being hit while trying to stop a white Citroen AX carrying four youths in Heslington on Wednesday.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said a 19-year-old man had also been charged with incitement to commit grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident. He was released on conditional bail and will appear before York magistrates on June 23.
Another four youths were released on police bail in connection with the incident pending further inquiries.
