SUN Inn's Tony Cooper gamed in a fantastic 15 darts at York John Smith's Men's League division one against leaders Shepherd.
Cooper was well supported by Chris Thompson (19), Rod Thompson (20) to take Sun 'A' to a 5-4 win. Mick Willsden gamed in 18 darts for Shepherd.
Martyn Turner (19 and a 180) and Paul Brandon (bull finish) pushed Clifton 'A' to a 6-3 win against Cygnet 'A'. However Jack White (17), Dave Gibbons (18 and a 180) and Mark Hartley (21 and a 180) ensured Cygnet the aggregate.
Paul Keers kick-started Crescent to a 7-2 victory at Dringhouses, while Ged McMahon-Scott Dowsett took the decider for Swan at Golden Slipper who saved the extra point with good wins from Garry O'Reagan and Rob Platt-Shaun Collinge.
Excellent victories by Mark Miller and Craig Wedge, who then teamed up to take the match saw Cygnet 'B' beat division two leaders Clifton 'B' 6-3. Clifton kept the aggregate through Roger Short (21) and Barry Noble (180).
Glyn Jeffrey (180 for 19) was outstanding as Blacksmith's beat Britannia 6-3. Mick Brookes opened well for Holgate but Osbaldwick hit back and took all the pairs, Russ Greaves-Mathew Mooring being the pick in a 6-3 victory.
Match-winners Graham Wilkinson-Mark Addinall gave Rose & Crown a 5-4 win, however a wide margin win from Phil Smith ensured the aggregate stayed at Slip Inn.
Division three leaders Shepherd 'B' notched up a 6-3 win over Clifton 'C' with Jim Leach hitting the tons. Shaun Riley (180) was inspirational as Bootham Tavern won 6-3 at Groves.
Phil Taylor-Pete Williams were the match-winners as Sun 'B' won 7-2 at Fox Inn. John Holtby-Steve Ellis secured the points for Green Tree in a 6-3 triumph over Fulfordgate.
O'Hara turns screw on Bay Horse
A SUPERB 16-darter from Kev O'Hara inspired Bay Horse to an 8-1 victory in their York Phoenix Open League division one encounter with Pack.
He was well backed by Rich Corner (138 finish for 21) and Dave O'Hara's 18 darter, but Bay were prevented from the clean sweep by Pack's Les Smith.
Howden keep the pressure on the leaders after Steve Burton-Dave Pilmoor sealed the last game win at Volunteer. Pilmoor got his team off to a fine start with a 20-darter.
A bull finish from Cygnet's Paul White made it 3-3 against Phoenix after the singles. White then partnered Steve Lane to clinch the ninth game win. Paul Lane (Cygnet) notched a maximum.
A splendid 107 finish from Steve Richardson sealed Crescent's win over Woodman, who had Tony Raymond out in 20 darts.
Division two leaders Leeman lost at Huntington 'A', whose match-winners were Harry Watson-Linda Watson. However, good scores from Les Scaife and Roger Pirrie saved the aggregate for Leeman.
Huntington 'B' recorded a comprehensive 7-2 win at Jackdaw with Pip Hair gaming in 21 and Keith Elliott closing out on 100.
David Dalton included a fine 19-darter as Woolpack stayed in touch at the top with a 6-3 win at Locomotive, while Yearsley's Dave Johnson gave them the perfect start at Victoria Vaults with a fine 19 darter.
Barry Dick-Craig Gardener guided Three Cranes to a 5-4 victory against near rivals Edinburgh Arms, while Reindeer made it three wins in a row with a 5-4 win against Indoor Bowls.
The performance of the night came from Clarence WMC player Arthur Caple who included a maximum on his way to a fantastic 16 darts. Mount 'B' took the match but Clarence salvaged the aggregate point.
Because of the England v Croatia Euro 2004 game, Unique-Phoenix League teams will be allowed to postpone their matches on Monday, but should inform the league secretary if they are calling off their fixture.
