BURN blasted into the Horwath Pulleyn-Heselton Cup quarter-finals thanks to the bowling of Frazer Fillingham.
He took a stunning 4-9 haul, aided by Ashley Abbott's 4-37 to stifle the reply from fellow second division side Copmanthorpe.
Burn batted first and had Andy Watson (59) and David Prime (57) in prime form with an 89-run partnership to set up a total of 214-7. Darren Hughes was the pick of the Cop attack with 5-46.
Copmanthorpe's Charles Mitton (43) kept up the run rate but when he fell with the score at 97-4 the wheels came off, the last seven wickets falling for only 25 runs.
Burn will face Drax, who overwhelmed Kelfield. Batting first, Drax smashed 207-4, Ian Goulden top-scoring with 66no.
Kelfield's reply collapsed around opener Phil Smith, whose 38 was more than double the 75 total. Paul Smith bagged 4-2 from four miserly overs.
In the other half of the draw Tollerton Outlaws toppled cup kings Stockton and Hopgrove.
Ross Hardy (43) and some late hitting took Tollerton's score to 186-8, with teenager Dan Fairclough bowling extremely well for his 3-17.
Father and son Tony and Dave Kerrison got Stockton away well but as soon as the run rate dropped wickets fell. Paul Raper followed his 30no with 5-26 to send Stockton out for 122.
British Sugar beat Westow in a tight affair. Westow had first knock and despite a solid start they lost wickets at regular intervals and with Gary Iqbal's (4-32) and three wickets each for Mark Bellerby and Robbie Sanderson they were all out for 131.
Sugar got home by three wickets with Clive Heaton and Steve Bellerby both scoring 27 each.
In the quarter-finals of the Mitchell Cup high-flying Askham Bryan YPO entertained Bishopthorpe.
The visitors batted first and rattled up 172-7, Danny Williams' run-scoring continued with 39. A late burst by Will Reynolds (34) was only thwarted by the efforts of Glynn Botterill who took economical figures of 3-14 from his ten overs.
Bish's Andy Fairburn matched this effort and put Askham in early trouble. Then a stand between Paul Thornton (43) and Pete Wood (52) swung the tide back to Askham. Alas, it was too little too late as Derrick Gardiner (3-36) and Danny Williams (3-11) cleaned up to leave Bishopthorpe 27-run winners.
Bishopthorpe will now meet North Duffield, who emphatically trounced Stillingfleet.
Stillingfleet batted first on a tricky surface as Lee Wild (3-19) removed the top order. Roy Bramley (3-2) took out the tail to leave Duffield a victory target of 65.
After a cautious start Chris Coward powered a resolute 53no to gain an eight-wicket win.
Norwich Union beat their division two rivals Ben Johnson. The BJ's batsmen had no answer to the Union's four-pronged attack and had Paul Palmer (26) and Steve Thornton (27no) to thank for reaching 125 all out. Opener Will Smith (54no) guided them home for a seven-wicket win.
Union will play Fulfordgate in the semi-finals after what looked like a tense affair against Ovington.
