A TEENAGE girl was killed and two other people were seriously injured when a car crashed through a hedge and landed on its roof in the car park of a York fast food restaurant.
The silver BMW, which was carrying five people, went out of control on the A1237 outer ring road at Clifton Moor, York, before ending up in the car park of the nearby McDonald's restaurant.
The girl was thrown from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body had to be cut free from debris by firefighters.
Another teenage girl, who suffered serious internal injuries, was found in the bushes. A man - believed to be in his early 20s - sustained head and lower leg injuries. The two remaining occupants escaped with cuts and bruises.
All four occupants were taken to York Hospital following the accident, which happened at about 11.50pm on Saturday.
A York Hospital spokeswoman said the two patients with serious injuries were to be discharged today.
Police say their car overtook a black Ford Fiesta travelling towards the Wigginton Road roundabout before it went out of control.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or saw the car beforehand is asked to phone PC Glen Wilkinson on 01904 669717.
