I HAVE been following the discussion about the necessity of the number 6 bus in your letters column.
I would like support the continuation of this service and also that of a number of residents who have contacted me about the future of the service.
This is a service well used by residents of the Osbaldwick, Hull Road and Heworth wards. It is a frequent and reliable service that people can use to get to town, the hospital and Clifton Moor.
I believe that objections to the number 6 service in the Osbaldwick area are not supported by the majority of people who use the service from that area, or from other wards through which the bus runs.
Reliable, frequent and easily accessible public transport is a necessity in this area of the city.
Coun Ruth Potter,
Heworth ward,
Chaucer Street,
