UPGRADING the facilities of the Barbican Centre and its two swimming pools was always going to be a contentious issue, no matter who was steering the project. Is it any wonder then that councillors, recently cast aside by York's electorate, are the most vocal in their condemnation of the re-development?
When this project is finally completed, these poor souls will not be able to claim any credit for what will be a superb focal point for York's residents and visitors alike.
