CONSTRUCTION work has started on a new £1.4 million North Yorkshire base for a cycle clothing and accessory distributor.
Integrated design build and development company, Severfield-Reeve Projects, has started work on the 30,000sq ft warehouse and office facility at Thirsk Industrial Park for Boroughbridge-based Zyro plc.
The new facility will provide more storage, office, training and showroom space for fast-growing Zyro plc, which has a £12 million turnover and supplies high-performance cycle clothing and accessories to retailers throughout the UK.
John Siddall, Severfield-Reeve Projects' construction director, said: "Construction work is progressing well and is due to be complete by the end of this year.
"It adds to our already extensive involvement with Thirsk Industrial Park, which has become an important economic entity in this part of North Yorkshire."
Julie Ellison, joint founder and managing director of Zyro plc, said: "The new base at Thirsk will play an important part in our continuing development. We chose Severfield-Reeve Projects because its integrated service means that they are responsible for the entire project, allowing us more time to get on with running our business.
"We are delighted to have completed the design and planning stages and it is great that work has started on site. We have shown many of our staff around and we are very much looking forward to moving in."
