Bono, Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer wrote the Golden Globe-nominated Time Enough For Tears (from the movie In America), Ladysmith Black Mambaza perform on Borrowed Heaven, and Summer Sunshine owes more than a nod of recognition to The Stones' Ruby Tuesday.
Apart from that, The Corrs are a self-contained musical unit, taking little from outside influences. In many ways they are an old-fashioned band. Their brand of wistful, summery, easy-going pop is unique. Unlike say, Gloria Estefan, they haven't strayed away from the sound that made them popular.
No real surprises are to be found, although Silver Strand is a luscious instrumental, which sounds as if it too comes from a movie soundtrack. Borrowed Heaven is unlikely to earn The Corrs a new fan base, but anyone who has enjoyed the band's previous three LPs will cherish this uplifting slice of Irish pop.
