CAN it really be ten years since these cheeky, side-burned rapscallions won us over with the Britpop classic Alright?
The oddly-faced Oxford trio, Gaz Coombes, Mickey Quinn and Danny Goffey, have released four albums in that time and this 21-track compilation is testament to their unwavering energy and flair.
Supergrass have always been one of the coolest, wittiest bands around in terms of their fashion tastes, album covers, and videos. Who could forget the chopper-riding nonsense in Alright or when they transformed themselves into 20ft muppets for the Pumping On Your Stereo video.
The cover to Supergrass Is Ten continues this tradition, being peppered with student slogan badges. More importantly the music is a fantastic body of work, a great summer companion to suit every mood. The raucous, catchy riffs of Richard III, Lenny and Caught By The Fuzz sit perfectly with the more inventive Moving and Going Out. Pumping pleasure.
