A NEW chapter of British Network International (BNI) is being established in York, bringing the total number to three.
Only one representative from a profession or trade can join each chapter so that members are not in competition. Because the existing two York chapters are full, a new one is starting, which will meet at Swallow Hall Golf Club, between Crockey Hill and Wheldrake on the A19, every Thursday for breakfast
BNI is the business and professional networking organisation whose aim is to increase business for its members through referral.
Penny Hamilton, of National Legal Services, York, is one of the pioneer members of the new chapter. She said: "News of this new York chapter being established has already attracted some key decision-makers eager to register their interest and commitment, thus locking out their competitors.
"Being active in BNI is like having up to 40 sales people working for you, by referring your business to people they meet without you having to pay any salaries or commissions."
Meetings at the Swallow Hall Golf Club are planned for tomorrow, as well as June 17 and June 24 to give information to anyone interested in finding out how BNI can help their businesses.
