IN the Evening Press of June 2, Councillor Steve Galloway expressed disappointment that York householders are generating "ever-increasing amounts of rubbish".
Is this any surprise after the previous administration foisted upon the city the enormous and unsightly wheeled bins? The capacity of the average wheeled bin is approximately twice that of a conventional dustbin, and it seems hardly fair to blame householders for using the bins once they have been provided.
Time for a re-think and an end to this failed experiment which has so disfigured York's streets.
