HERE'S the chance to win a free round of golf at North Yorkshire's newest club - the Flaxby Park Golf and Country Club.
The David Hemstock-designed course, for which membership has already been closed such has been the demand, is to be officially opened on Thursday, July 1 by BBC television weatherman Paul Hudson, who is a keen golfer.
To celebrate the opening we have linked up with the club to give one Evening Press golfer, plus two friends, the chance to attend the launch and be among the first to play Flaxby's 18-hole championship course.
The winner will meet for coffee and bacon sandwiches before watching Paul Hudson hit the inaugural drive, after which you can sample the delights of the course yourselves. You can even play with Paul on a few of holes. At the end of your round a buffet lunch will be served in the club's temporary clubhouse.
And as an added bonus, ten runners-up will each receive a voucher for a free round of golf.
To enter the competition all you have to do is answer this simple question: Who designed the course?
Answers should be sent on a postcard, complete with day-time telephone number, to: Flaxby Park competition, Sportsdesk, Yorkshire Evening Press, 76-86 Walmgate, York YO1 9YN, by Wednesday, June 16.
Normal Evening Press rules apply.
