THE new Dean of York was being welcomed into the city today.
The Very Rev Keith Jones was being installed as the Dean of York this afternoon by the Archbishop of York, Dr David Hope, in York Minster.
Dean Jones moved to his first Cathedral post as Priest's Vicar at St Albans Cathedral.
He was appointed Rural Dean of Ipswich in 1992 and became Dean of Exeter in 1996
He is married to Viola and they have three daughters, Sophie, Olivia and Isabel. Dean Jones said: "I'm very excited by the prospect of having our home in York and helping the Minster on its next steps."
Dr Hope said: "I am very much looking forward to welcoming the new Dean to the Minster, the city and the Diocese and to his work amongst us."
