SCARBOROUGH CC visit Clifton Park in what promises to be a tight Yorkshire ECB County Premier Cricket League struggle.
Like the Seasiders, York are striving to reach the higher echelons of the League table so the fixture will be more than the normally closely contested affair.
Last week Scarborough, led by the highly respected batter Darren Harland, eclipsed League champions, Cleethorpes, by a comfortable margin in contrast to York's narrow success over the Lincolnshire club the previous week. Alongside Harland, they have Western Australian Clint Heron who topped the League averages last year with 1137 runs.
Despite injury niggles for Rob Flack and Rich Carroll, York are hoping to field an unchanged side but an interesting feature of the match will be the return to Clifton Park of Richard Gilbert whose bowling has blossomed since he left York two years ago for his home town. He claimed over 50 wickets last year and is already heading in the same direction so the York batsmen will need to resist trying to score points off an old colleague.
