POACHER'S Lee Brundrett hit a 180 for a fantastic 15 darts then added a 123 finish in the pairs in York John Smith's Men's League division one.

Ray McInally backed him up with a fine 17 darts as Poacher whitewashed Cue Ball.

Heath Scaife (15), Mick Willsden (19) and Keith Turner (180) - Willsden recording a 20-dart 701 - led Shepherd 'A' to a 7-2 demolition of Mitre, whose Neil Long had a creditable 21 darts.

Martyn Turner (20) opened for Clifton 'A' then partnered Martin Waddington to take the decider at Swan who had Ged McMahon gaming in 21.

Division two leaders Clifton 'B' had Neil Hart (19), Barry Noble (19) and Anthony Baxter (86 finish for 21) leading them to a 7-2 win over second-placed Britannia who had a 70 finish from Mike Harrison.

Mark Miler (21), Dave Broadhead (180) and Derek Hartley (180) nudged Cygnet 'B' to a 5-4 win over Rose & Crown who also had a 180 from Mick Addinall.

A 120 finish from Pete Watson was the highlight for Institute, however, Osbaldwick hit back to win 5-4 through good wins from Pete Cooper and match-winners Mark Watling-James Carter.

Mick Brookes was outstanding as Holgate grabbed a 5-4 win at Blacksmith's.

Slip Inn won their encounter with Flag 'A' within the singles after Paul Calpin had put the away side one-up.

Gordon Foster (97 finish for 18) and Dave Dobson (18) gave division three side Flag 'B' the edge in a 5-4 victory over Bootham Tavern.

St Clements moved into second place with good wins from Adrian Shaw and match-winners Mal Waudby-Mike Renshaw after a 5-4 win over Clifton 'C'.

Leaders Bay Horse cut down Woodman

DAVE O'Hara gamed in 20 darts to inspire the York Phoenix Open League division one leaders to a 8-1 victory against Woodman.

O'Hara was well backed by Rich Corner and son Kev O'Hara, while a maximum from Tony Raymond in a 24-dart 701 pairs with Paul Armstrong gave Woodman their only win.

Howden had their match against Crescent won within the singles as Dave Pilmoor shot a 19-darter and Mick Harris did well with 21. Crescent's best came from Eric Ellison who gamed on bull.

At 4-2 after the singles, Volunteer had Paul Botterill-Stu Shaw as their match-winners against Phoenix. Mark Fratson-Mike Harris made it 6-2 and put their side nearly 300 in front on the aggregate. However, excellent scores from Nick Harteveld, partnering John Smith for a 24-dart 701 leg, saw Phoenix secure the aggregate by a mere four points.

Daz Meek's splendid 17 darts stood out for Pack as Cygnet dealt them a 7-2 defeat. Bob Greenwood and Paul White hit the tons for Cygnet.

A 22-darter from Dean Smallwood helped division two leaders Leeman to a narrow 5-4 win against Victoria Vaults, while Locomotive recorded the same score against Yearsley who had Dave Johnson out in 23 darts.

The 'A' team won the all-Huntington SC battle by 5-4, but good scores from Steve Cowley and Mark White saved the aggregate for the 'B' team.

Paul Handy-Karen Reasbeck saw Woolpack to victory against Jackdaw, whose Mike Barrett hit a couple of tons.

In division three, high fliers Edinburgh Arms came down with a bump going down 6-3 at home to Reindeer whose Bob Rochester did well.
