EDUCATION furniture supplier Castles UK Ltd of Tockwith is celebrating its third anniversary this month with record turnover figures - almost tripling last year's.
The company, which supplies residential furniture predominantly to independent schools and colleges across the UK, recently moved into a new, 6,000 square foot factory, which is three times the size of its original premises, to cope with demand.
Managing director David Baldwin attributes the company's rapid growth to "a lot of hard work, long hours and some sound business advice".
The result is a customer base that has grown from a handful to around 100 - including prestigious names such as Fettes College in Edinburgh, Epsom College and Barnard Castle School.
He acknowledged the contribution of help and support from the Harrogate and Craven Business Development Centre - a partner organisation of Business Link York and North Yorkshire that delivers Business Link services to fledgling companies, in the early stages of trading.
Business advisers John Kennett and Shirin Borrett have provided Mr Baldwin with ongoing support, ranging the formation of a detailed business plan that helped secure a bank loan to get the business off the ground, to completing a comprehensive customer service survey to assist with forward planning.
