"TALE of two cities: On the right, York's Fossgate buzzing in 1992 and left, quiet last week following the clampdown on evening parking". So reads the caption to paired photographs in the Evening Press (May 21).
Actually, they must be the other way round: there is a P-registered, ie 1996-7 car in the righthand picture.
In the 1992 picture left I can make out 17 people - the group in front of the railings is very indistinct. In the 2004 picture I can see 17 people.
