LEADERS of two top "spinout" firms from the University of York will talk about how they turned their early stage technology businesses into successful ventures.
Chief executives Dr Graham Howe, of Amaethon, and Dr Alan Raymond, of Pro-Cure Therapeutics, will address owners and leaders of other hi-tech companies in the city at an Entrepreneur Programme event organised by Protechnica, the professional services consortium, at the Innovation Centre, York, on Wednesday, June 16.
Amaethon was established last year as a partnership between the university and IP2IPO Group plc to commercialise plant and microbial gene discovery research.
Pro-Cure Therapeutics was formed in 2001 to commercialise leading research at the university into urino-genital cancers.
