Selby lead division six of Hunters the estate agent York and District Senior League by 40 points after recording their fifth win of the season, at the expense of Civil Service.

Steve Whitehead destroyed Service by taking 7-32, only Bob Graves (53) finding the answer with the bat as his side were bowled out for 131.

Phil Jolly then hit 69 and Kev Lund an unbeaten 26 as Selby ran out winners by four wickets.

Stillington are in second place after taking maximum batting points when they outplayed Cawood in a drawn game. Stillington's 206-7 came courtesy of Chris Manson (32), Dennis North (28) and father and son Dave Linton (26) and Shaun Linton (29no), with Nazeer Shefta taking 3-46. Shefta then hit 54 and James Pearson 30 as Cawood opted for a safety-first policy at 140-4.

New Earswick's John Routledge set up his side's six-wicket win at the attractive Londesbrough Park ground when his 7-72 restricted Park to 145-9. Home runs came from Dick Salmon (44) and Ben Lewis (26).

When Earswick replied, Mark Benson made 40 and Andy Routledge 35 while Darren Moody (3-47) claimed three of the four wickets to fall.

Another seven-wicket haul, this time by Dringhouses' Brendon Walsh, set Rowntree on the road to their fourth defeat in six outings.

Only Andy Main, who made 43, made a major contribution as Rowntree were dismissed for 121 in the 44th over.

Phil Walls then struck an early blow and Dringhouses were further depleted when Ray Klarik had to retire through injury.

These proved to be minor setbacks as the experienced duo of Geoff Smith (46no) and Bob Taylor (37) took Dringhouses to an eight-wicket win.
