Dunnington, division five leaders in Hunters the estate agent York and District Senior League, suffered a shock defeat.

They lost by four runs to Tadcaster Magnet II at Common Road in a game dominated by the bowlers.

Peter Wlson was the only batsman in the game to emerge with credit. He scored 39 for Magnet, who were bowled out for 109 by Gavin Haines (4-39) and Paul Olivier (4-10).

Seventeen-year-old Russell Nadin then produced a devastating spell which saw him take five wickets for eight runs as Dunnington crashed to 105 all out.

Sessay's batsmen had an even worse day when they capitulated to 70 all out at Cawood, whose Simon Hall took 4-14. Miles Taylor then saw Cawood to a seven-wicket win with a knock of 30.

Bolton Percy skipper Bill Preacher made 88 not out at Carlton Towers as he and Nick Lister (49) added 87 in a third wicket stand to move Bolton to 162-5.

After their disastrous performance the previous weekend, Carlton's batsmen were able to increase their total by 111 despite no-one reaching the 25 run mark.

Martin Pears posed posed problems with 3-33 as Carlton were all out for 120, leaving them trailing by 32 points at the foot of the division.

Huntington notched their third victory of the league campaignwhen their batsmen put up a good show to make 181-8 and then their bowlers knocked over Stamford Bridge for 83.

D Walton was top scorer with 38 while Chris Smith made 25 and Stuart Ross 33 as Shaun Veysey captured 4-45.

With the previous weekend's record breaker Steve Beales away on holiday, Stuart Ross filled the Huntington bowling breach by taking 5-22 as he and S Watson (3-8) rocked the Bridge.

Peter Bainbridge with 4-16 and Tom Bartram with 3-21 enmeshed the Hovingham batsmen so that they were able to make only 87-9, which allowed York III to run out winners by nine wickets.
